Laser training systems have revolutionized the way firearms training is conducted. These innovative systems offer a wide range of benefits that enhance targeting accuracy, reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, save money on training costs, improve speed and reaction time, create realistic training scenarios, provide customizable training programs, offer convenient and flexible training options, provide objective performance feedback, reduce environmental impact, and enhance team training and collaboration.
Live fire training, as the name suggests, involves firing live ammunition and provides a more realistic experience compared to dry fire training. It allows shooters to experience recoil, muzzle control, and practice proper gun handling protocols. By practicing live fire, shooters can fine-tune their sight alignment, trigger control, and marksmanship skills with actual rounds. It also offers the opportunity to assess the effectiveness of dry fire training techniques in a real shooting scenario. Furthermore, live fire training with different caliber handguns helps shooters familiarize themselves with the handling and characteristics of various firearms. This experience can be crucial for those who carry firearms for self-defense or professional purposes. However, it is important to note that live fire training should always be conducted in a safe firing range, following proper safety measures and precautions. By incorporating live fire training into your practice regimen, you can enhance your overall shooting proficiency and gain valuable experience that complements the skills developed through dry fire training.

All Public Agency Training Center Instructors can work around your schedule to get you on a live-fire range. Most of our Instructors maintain private live-fire ranges which they own and manage. These private ranges allow the student to focus on their shooting fundamentals and newly acquired P.A.T.C. skills without distractions and safety risks from other shooters and create a great one-on-one relationship between instructor and student.
- We Can Schedule a Live-Fire Class For You
If you live in an area where public live-fire ranges are available and wish to practice your skills there that’s perfectly fine. Your Public Agency Training Center Instructor can schedule a time with you at a public range to fit your schedule. Note: Public ranges typically charge additional fees to shoot at their range and may require a pre-shoot safety class issued by their on-site range master.

Accessibility: Dry fire laser training can be conducted indoors, making it a convenient and accessible training method. Cost-Effectiveness: By eliminating the need for ammunition and range fees, laser training helps save money. Safety: Dry fire laser training is significantly safer than live fire, as there is no risk of accidental discharge or injuries due to live rounds. Skill Development: Dry fire laser training allows shooters to practice essential skills like trigger control, sight alignment, grip, and stance with no distractions from noise and recoil.
- Advantages of Dry-Fire Laser Training
Realistic Experience: Live fire training replicates the actual experience of shooting, including recoil, noise, and shot placement. Practice with Ammunition: Handling live ammunition during practice helps shooters develop skills and familiarity with their firearm's performance. Range Etiquette and Safety Practices: Live fire training at a range reinforces safety measures, such as proper firearm handling and safe storage.
